Types of Gifts

Annual Gifts

The Terrier Pride Annual Fund meets both the current budgetary needs of the Athletic Department and provides flexibility to meet the unforeseen challenges of keeping an NCAA Division I athletic program nationally competitive. Gifts can either be restricted to a particular sport or program or unrestricted to be used in the area of greatest need.

Unrestricted Gifts

Unrestricted gifts to Boston University athletics provide the greatest amount of flexibility by allowing the Athletic Director to direct funds to the area of greatest need, thereby, helping to keep the entire athletic department nationally competitive in the classroom and on the field.

Restricted Gifts

You can choose to direct your gift to support one or more of the 24 men's and women's athletic teams. Your gift helps to supplement coach's salaries, recruiting budgets, academic support resources and other unforeseen expenses associated with maintaining a competitive Division 1 NCAA athletic program.

Endowed Gifts

Endowed gifts provide financial stability and help to ensure the future success of Boston University athletics. Endowment gifts are invested with the university's endowment and provide a permanent source of income for BU athletics. A portion of the interest generated by these gifts is used to support BU athletics and the rest is re-invested in the endowment to preserve buying power and future growth.

Capital Gifts

Gifts to capital projects support facility enhancement and help open doors to important new initiatives that are essential in providing additional opportunities for student-athletes to learn, grow and compete and to strive towards even greater success.
