Vic Brown is in his second season as an associate strength and conditioning coach at Boston University. He works with the Terriers' women's soccer, softball, swimming and diving, and wrestling teams.
It is his second stint at BU, as he was an intern in the athletic department during the summer of 2003 under head strength and conditioning coach Glenn Harris.
A 2000 graduate of Springfield College with degrees in athletic training and psychology, Brown received his Master's degree in Exercise Science from Appalachian State University in 2004.
Brown has co-authored a number of publications, including Influence of Carbohydrate on Immune Changes Following Two-Hours of Intense Resistance Training in The Journal of Applied Physiology in 2004 and Immune Response to a 30-Minute Walk in Medicine and Science In Sports and Exercise in 2005. He has also worked on a range of research development projects centered on immune changes and metabolic rates in the body over time.
Brown brings a wide variety of skills to his position at BU In addition to internship and graduate assistant positions at both BU and ASU, he has helped organize and develop an athletic training program at Pope John XXIII High School and served as interim athletic trainer and instructor at Sparta Township High School, both in Sparta, N.J. Additionally, he has held an athletic training position with the New Jersey Red Dogs of the Arena Football League and a strength and conditioning post for the Kane County Cougars of the Mid-West League, a Class-A baseball affiliate of the Oakland A's.
Brown was a member of the Springfield College baseball team from 1996-2000 and trained with the ASU Triathlon Team in 2003-04. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist, athletic trainer, and personal trainer and holds memberships in the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the Athletic Trainers' Society of New Jersey. While at ASU, he was a member of the Graduate School Honor Society.
