Kim Cochrane was named an Assistant Director for Student-Athlete Support Services in the Boston University Department of Athletics in March 2008.
Cochrane comes to BU from the University of Maryland, where she served as the Director of the Intensive Learning Program, Olympic Sports. She assisted student-athletes' acclimation to the school as both a student and an athlete by assessing their academic ability and learning styles, and then creating an individualized learning profile and dedicated program. She also supervised and trained academic mentors as well as assisted with the hiring, training and scheduling of tutors.
Previously, Cochrane assisted student-athletes in the athletic departments at the University of Oklahoma and the University of Texas Pan American.
Cochrane graduated in 2000 with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Education from the University of Southern Maine, where she was a four-year letterwinner and two-year captain for the field hockey team. In 2003 she also earned from Springfield College a Master's in Education in Counseling and Psychological Services, with a concentration in athletic counseling.
A native of Biddeford, Maine, she currently resides in Brighton. |
