College of St. Rose `96 Eastern Kentucky `03 Phil DeCarlo was hired as Director of Student-Athlete Services at Boston University in January of 2006. His responsibilities involve leadership and administration of all aspects of the Student Athlete Support Services department, which serves more than 500 student athletes. DeCarlo's duties include providing academic support, monitoring academic eligibility, facilitating CHAMPS/Life Skills programming and overseeing the Student Athlete Advisory Council. DeCarlo comes to BU from Providence College, where he served as the Academic and LIFE SKILLS coordinator for Student-Athletes from August 2003 until January 2006. He oversaw all phases of academic support at PC. DeCarlo spent two years at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Ky., earning his master's degree in College Student Personnel. While on campus, he served as a graduate assistant in the Student-Athlete Support Services department. DeCarlo spent four years (1997-2001) as an academic advisor and the head men's basketball coach at Schenectady Community College in Schenectady, N.Y. Prior to that he was assistant coach at the Junior College of Albany. DeCarlo is a 1996 graduate of College of St. Rose in Albany, N.Y. He earned his degree in Social Work and was a two-year member on the basketball team. DeCarlo is a native of Schenectady, N.Y. He is single and currently resides in Brighton, MA. |
