Deputy Director of Athletics

After serving as Boston University's Associate Athletic Director for Internal Affairs since August 2005, Drew Marrochello was promoted to Deputy Director of Athletics in July 2007.

Marrochello had served as athletic director at Hudson Valley Community College since 1997; he began working at Hudson Valley in 1993, as the college's academic coordinator and assistant director of athletics.

During Marrochello's tenure as athletic director, Hudson Valley's teams have combined to win 31 conference championships, 11 Region III titles and one national championship. Ten of Hudson Valley's 14 varsity teams have won either a regional or conference championship under his leadership. From 1997 to 2005, 40 Hudson Valley student-athletes have garnered All-American honors.

Along with the accomplishments on the field, Marrochello has guided a program that has excelled academically. Thirty-two student-athletes have reached Academic All-American status since 1997. During the last two school-years, Hudson Valley's lacrosse, volleyball, softball and tennis teams have been recognized by the NJCAA for their outstanding academic accomplishments. In addition, three Hudson Valley student-athletes were presented the prestigious SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence in 2005. The award was presented to only 264 students from 60 SUNY campuses across the state.

Marrochello was named the Region III Athletic Director of the year for the 2003-04 season by his peers at the 29 Region III colleges, and recently was awarded the 2005 SUNY Chancellor's Award for Professional Service.

He also has served as president of the Mountain Valley Conference, commissioner of the Northeast Football Conference, as a member of the national women's basketball committee and the Region III board of directors. He also sat as the Region III chairman for ice hockey, women's basketball and softball.

Originally from Arlington, Mass., Marrochello received his bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University and his master's degree from the University at Albany.
