Kate Sampson enters her second year as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with Boston University's sports medicine department. After working with the Swimming and Diving and Women's Lacrosse programs during her first year, Sampson will transition to coverage of the Women's Ice Hockey team.

Sampson is currently enrolled as a graduate student in the applied anatomy and physiology program at BU's Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. In addition, she is a teaching assistant for BU's athletic training program.

Prior to her arrival at BU, Sampson graduated magna cum laude from Canisius College in May 2006 with a bachelor of science degree in athletic training and a minor in health and human performance. As an undergraduate, she worked as an athletic training student with men's and women's basketball and women's lacrosse. In addition, Sampson worked with the football and soccer programs at Sweet Home High School.

A native of Kenmore. N.Y., Sampson is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and is a licensed athletic trainer by the Massachusetts Board of Allied Health.
