Dan Satter was named Boston University's Assistant Director of Athletics for Marketing Communications in October 2007. He is responsible for overseeing the department's external affairs including marketing, promotions, sports information and multimedia. Satter previously served as an Assistant General Manager for the Pitt ISP Sports Network at the University of Pittsburgh. His primary responsibility was selling corporate sponsorships, generating revenue in excess of $1.25 million annually. He also was actively involved with the athletic department's marketing arm regarding game-day presentation and advertising, and sold the naming rights to the Petersen Events Center's club area. Prior to ISP Sports, Satter worked for the University of Pittsburgh athletic department, substantially growing its radio network in both its number of affiliates and the length and quantity of broadcasts. He also has worked for the University of North Carolina athletic department, as well as with Learfield Communications for one year in its Tar Heel Sports Marketing office. Satter received his undergraduate degree with a double-major in history and journalism and mass communication from the University of North Carolina. He also earned a master's degree in sport administration from UNC, during which time he taught undergraduate physical education classes. He recently completed his master's in business administration from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University. A native of Framingham, Satter lives in Chestnut Hill with his wife, Sarah Bea, and their two Yorkshire Terriers, Webster and Ozzie. |
