Villanova '00 Boston College '03 Clare Turkington enters her first year as an assistant director of Student-Athlete Support Services (SASS). Turkington joined the athletic department this September after working as a pre-medical advisor for two years in BU's College of Arts and Sciences. Turkington serves as the Academic Coordinator for women's basketball, men's soccer, men's and women's crew, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's golf, and wrestling. She works with the student-athletes to improve their overall personal development and their pursuit of academic and athletic goals. She also serves as the department's coordinator for the NCAA CHAMPS/Life Skills program and assists with managing the ongoing academic support services and educational programs for student-athletes. Prior to arriving at BU, Turkington earned her graduate degree in higher education administration at Boston College, where she worked as a graduate assistant in the office of Learning Resources for Student-Athletes and in the Department of Residental Life. Turkington earned a bachelor of arts degree in sociology from Villanova in 2000. She was a four-year letterwinner for the Wildcats' field hockey team and earned Academic All-American honors. A native of Collegeville, Pa., Turkington currently resides in Newtonville. |
