No. 6/7 Terriers Set to Face Top-Ranked Penn in NCAA Quarterfinal

Following a 16-8 victory over No. 13 New Hampshire in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Sunday, No. 6/7 Boston University (18-2) will travel to Philadelphia to face top-ranked Penn (15-1) in the quarterfinals on Saturday (May 17) at 1 p.m. The game will be played at Drexel's Vidas Field.

Davenport, Enos, Maksimow, McEachern Inducted Into BU Athletic Hall of Fame

Four former Terrier greats were inducted into the Boston University Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday evening, as Larry Davenport, Deidre Enos, Shawn McEachern and Andre Maksimow were honored at the 48th annual induction banquet, held in the Trustees' Ballroom in the School of Management. Four special award winners were also recognized.

The No. 6/7 Boston University lacrosse team broke open a second-half deadlock by scoring the game's final eight goals to post a 16-8 victory over No. 13 New Hampshire in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Sunday afternoon at Nickerson Field. Junior Sarah Dalton matched a career high with six goals, including four in the late run, to help the Terriers advance to the quarterfinal round for just the second time in program history.

The Boston University outdoor track and field team competed at the New England Championship in Durham, N.H. on Friday and Saturday, with the women's team coming in 15th and the men's side placing 28th. Junior Edwina Clark earned gold in the long jump for the women, while the senior trio of Jake Laroe, Nick Goodman and Patrick Hoye all placed in the 1500m for the men.

The second-seeded Boston University softball team (29-23, 15-6 AE) fell to No. 4 UMBC (15-28, 12-9 AE), 5-3, on Friday afternoon on the second day of the 2008 America East Championship. Freshman Melanie Delgado drove in two runs and classmate April Setterlund recorded an RBI in the loss.

The Boston University softball team (29-22) dropped its opening round game of the 2008 America East Championship, 3-0, to Stony Brook on Thursday afternoon in Albany, N.Y. The Seawolves (31-21-1) scored in the second and tacked on two more in the top of the seventh to secure the first-round victory. BU will now face UMBC on Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the double-elimination tournament.

Freshman April Setterlund has been named the 2008 America East Rookie of the Year, headlining nine Boston University softball players who earned all-conference accolades, as announced at the league's annual banquet on Wednesday evening in Albany, N.Y. BU placed three athletes on the America East All-Conference First Team, four on the second team and three on the all-rookie team for a total of ten honors - more than any other school in the league.

The Boston University women's outdoor track and field team won the America East championship this weekend in Orono, Maine, led by the meet's high scorer, senior Tahari James. The men's team finished fourth, headed by senior David Proctor and sophomore Eric Ashe, who took first in the 800m and 3000m steeplechase, respectively. The Terriers' also earned the women's Coaching Staff of the Year award for the second consecutive season, after taking the title during the women's America East indoor championship as well.
