Men's Crew Competes on First Day of the Head of the Charles

BOSTON - Boston University men's crew entered three boats in the Club 4+ and Club Eight races on the first day of the 43rd annual Head of the Charles Regatta. The Terriers had two boats racing in the Club Eight and a freshman boat in the Club 4+. In the Club 4+ the Boston University boat stroked by freshman Christiaan Schoemakers (Amersfoort, Netherlands) finished sixth overall, out of 44 entrants, after starting 27th. The boat crossed the line in 17:31.62. BU's varsity eight racing in the Club Eight event placed 29th in 16:11.31, while the freshmen finished 50th out of 72 in a time of 16:57.99. The Terriers have boats in the Championship Eight and Championship 4+ races on Sunday - the varsity four will go off at 3:11 p.m. while the eight will start at 4:04.
