In an effort to raise money for the Men's Crew program at Boston University we are renting boats at the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston on Oct. 20-21, 2007. All proceeds from the rentals will help the program directly by helping to pay for our Spring Training Trip in March. All the boats available for rental are top-quality, race-ready boats from Vespoli, Filippi, and Fluid Design. Boats will be rented on a first come, first serve basis.
Below you will find a listing of the boats available and their rental prices:
Eights: $300
Fours: $200
Quads: $200
Doubles: $150
Singles: $100
*Please note: All boats are recommended for crews averaging 190 pounds and up. However, the 1x's, 2x's, 4x's, and, in particular, the 4+'s also respond well to slightly lighter crews; 175 pounds and up.
What the price includes:
- All boats will be available to row on Friday, October 19th at approximately 9:00 A.M. through the end of racing Sunday, October 21st.
- You get full use of the shell for the entire regatta. No one else will be using the shell you are renting.
- Oars are included in the cost if you decide not to bring your own.
- All boats are wired for stroke/speed coaches. All coxed boats are wired for NK Cox boxes. However, you will need to bring your own speed coach or cox box.
- If you would like to rent the boat before Friday, an additional fee will be assessed for each extra day. The fee structure is as follows: 8+ $100/day, 4+/x $50/day, 2x/1x $25/day.
Rigging: You may of course rig the shell yourself but you must re-rig the boat back to its original specs after you are done using it. We will not be providing rigging tools.
Payment details:
- Proof of insurance is required as well as the signing of a University Indemnity Agreement, supplied by us, at the time of agreement before we can commit to providing a shell.
- Payment must be received, in full, before the boat comes off the rack at the boathouse.
Please contact Dave Padgett for more info and to reserve your shell for the regatta.
