Late Rally by Brown, Hall Helps Wrestling Edge Springfield, 24-22

BOSTON - The Boston University used bonus wins from sophomore Alex Brown (184) and freshman John Hall (197) to erase a late eight-point deficit and emerge with a 24-22 victory over Springfield College on Wednesday evening at the Track & Tennis Center. The Terriers are now 6-6 on the season. With the Terriers trailing 22-14 with two matches remaining, sophomore Alex Brown returned to the mat for the first time in over a year and posted a 14-4 major decision at 184 over Brandon Sundwall. Hall followed with a pin at 3:46 of his match to seal the victory for the Terriers. BU was in a 9-0 hole early, as junior Jim Connors dropped a tight 3-2 match at 285 before the Terriers' forfeit at 125. Sophomore Abbie Rush got the Terriers on the board with a fall in the final minute of the opening period of his match with Blaze Chatam. Senior Joey Whitaker followed with a 15-4 major decision over James Squires at 141 to give the Terriers a 10-9 lead. s Sophomore Ryan Buff, who was wrestling up a class to 149, was pinned by Chris DeBlock and junior Carlo Ferrandino dropped a 15-8 decision at 157, as the Pride took a 15-8 lead.
Sophomore C.J. Inglin ended Springfield's momentum with an important 11-3 major decsion over Jareth Cardoso in the 165-pound bout, but Anthony Scarpetti made the score 22-14 in the visitors' favor when he registered a major decision over sophomore A.J. Detwiler at 174.
The Terriers will return to action on Saturday (Feb. 2) when they visit cross-town rival Harvard for a 1 p.m. dual
