CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Following solid performances at the New England Cross Country Championships, Boston University cross country runners senior Andrea Walkonen and sophomore Eric Ashe were named America East Cross Country Women's and Men's Performers of the Week, as was announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

Walkonen finished first in the women's 5k race with a 17:36 mark. She has finished first in each of the team's three races this season, crossing the finish line a combined 2:09 ahead of second place finishers. The women's team finished third out of 44 teams.

Ashe was the first Terrier to cross in the men's race, placing 11th overall with a 25:30 finish time. The BU men finished ninth out of 43 teams. Ashe finished first overall on Sept. 15 at the Ted Owens Invitational with a 25:42 finish time and placed third in the season's opening race with a 26:21 time at Franklin Park.

The Terriers' next race will be the America East Championships on Oct. 27 in Long Island.
