Women's Crew Finishes Out Fall at the Foot of the Charles

BOSTON - Boston University women's crew closed out the fall season by hosting the Foot of the Charles on Saturday, Nov. 17. The 2.4 mile race began at MIT's Pearce boathouse and traveled upstream, finishing across from Harvard's Newell boathouse. The top-ranked crews from each college raced coxed fours, and the lower ranked crews in the varsity eight. Novice crews from each college competed in the novice eight.

Two of BU's crews finished in the top three in their respective races. The "A" 4+ stroked by freshman Lee-Ann Persse (Elgin, South Africa) placed third in 16:18.2, while the varsity eight stroked by junior Marija Petrovic (Belgrade, Serbia) finished second in 11:44.3.

The "B" 4+ finished sixth (16:28.4) while the "C" varsity 4+ placed 16th (17:02.3).

In the novice eight races, the "A" boat stroked by freshman Allie Doro (Ellicotville, N.Y.) crossed the line 13th in 18:43.5, and the "B" boat stroked by freshman Krystal Weston (East Patchogue, N.Y.) finished 21st in 19:12.8.
