2005 "Terrier Award"

In 2004, the Boston University field hockey program instituted the "Terrier Award". Now in its second season, the award will be given after each game to the most deserving player chosen by the coaching staff.

  Amy SeamanCoach Starr: "Amy played a relentless game, continuously putting pressure on BC’s restarts and recapturing the ball. Amy’s ball-handling skills made her a potent attacker, slicing through the opponents and giving us numerous scoring opportunities."

  BUCoach Starr: "Holly turned in the best game of her young career. She distributed the ball well and was aggressive and you could see her confidence blooming. She certainly did not play like a freshman."

  Erin PredigerCoach Starr: "Erin has been improving with every game since missing the first weekend of the season. Her decision making against Dartmouth was excellent, including a perfectly-played save on a 3-on-1 chance in overtime."

  Colleen McClayCoach Starr: "Colleen turned in another great defensive performance. She positioned herself very well throughout the game and made a lot of stops while collecting several loose balls. Her intelligent play and strong leadership were big factors in our win."

  Erin PredigerCoach Starr: "Erin made some huge saves to keep Yale off the board. The Bulldogs were able to get put together some good scoring opportunities in the second half, but Erin was there every time to keep the shutout intact."

  Ashley ParkerCoach Starr: "Ashley made plays all over the field, diving for loose balls and putting forth an all-out effort. She definitely helped us keep pace with a talented UConn team."

  Recipient: Kate Mitchell, with assistance from Tiffany Snow
  BUCoach Starr: "Kate came through big time for us on the sidelines, getting Colleen McClay back on the field as quickly as possible after she was struck in the head. With a little help from Tiffany in applying the steri-strips, Kate was able to get Colleen back in time to help us earn the come-from-behind win!"

  Pam SpuehlerCoach Starr: "Pam turned in a great performance to lead us to the win and help us earn home-field for the conference playoffs. She weaved her way through the Maine defense on numerous occasions and her pass to the far post to set up Shuter's goal was right on the money."
