STORRS, Conn. - A spot in the national semfinals will be at stake when the 11th-ranked Boston University field hockey team (18-5) takes the field against No. 4 Connecticut (21-2) on Sunday in an NCAA second-round match-up at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex. Game time is set for 2 p.m. On Saturday, the Terriers posted one of the biggest wins in program history with a 1-0 double-overtime victory over fifth-ranked Iowa. Sophomore Suus Dekker knocked home her own rebound in the 88th minute to send BU into the quarterfinal round for the first time since 1991. In the regular season, the Terriers dropped a hard-fought 3-2 road decision against the Huskies. This is the second consecutive year that the two New England rivals have met in the NCAAs, as the Huskies posted a 3-0 first-round victory at Princeton last November. BU is 7-21 all-time against UConn and will be looking for its first win in Storrs, having lost all previous 13 games there. The Terriers are attempting to reach the final four for the first time since 1985, while UConn will be trying to reach the national semifinals for the second time in as many years.
