Schumacher-Hodge Named to NSCAA/adidas Women's Scholar All-America East Region Second Team

BOSTON - Junior Marisha Schumacher-Hodge has been named to the NSCAA/addidas College Women's Scholar All-America East Region Second Team, as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America this week. Schumacher-Hodge was a vital part of the 2007 Boston University women's soccer team, which captured the America East women's soccer title and the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

A midfielder out of Pittsburgh, Pa., Schumacher-Hodge has excelled in the classroom, earning a 3.48 grade point average as an international relations major with a minor in environmental analysis and policy. She has been named to the America East Honor Roll in the fall of 2005, as well as the Commissioners List in the fall of 2006 and 2007. She has made the Dean's List twice - spring and fall of 2006.

On the field, Schumacher-Hodge led the team in points (14) and assists (6), while tallying four goals - two game-winners - during the season. For her efforts, she earned NSCAA All-Northeast Region Third Team honors and NEWISA All-New England Second Team accolades, while also collecting America East All-Conference First Team recognition. She tallied the game-winning goal against Binghamton in the conference semifinals.
